Eric's tooth started wiggling before I left for England. Jason and I wanted to be here when he lost the first tooth. Nana said he worried that tooth the whole time I was gone. Finally when Daddy came home he got brave and pulled it out. The tooth fairy left him $2.00 Now the tooth next to it is loose.

Edna May MorganEdna May Morgan, 75, passed away September 17, 2008. She was born April 3 1933 in Boise, Idaho, the eldest daughter of Claude and Ada Davenport. The family moved to the Marysville, Washington area in 1942.Edna graduated from Marysville Senior High School in 1950. In 1952 she earned an Associate in Arts and Sciences from Everett Junior College, followed by a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington in 1956.Edna spent her entire career in the Lake Stevens School District, originally teaching fourth grade before moving to the High School to teach Home Economics. Very much involved with the Lake Stevens Community, Edna served on the Library Board, was an active member of the Friends of the Library, worked with her church, generously gave of her time to organization helping "at risk" youths, and acted as a mentor to many. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and sharing time with friends and family.Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Morgan; and her parents. She is survived by her sister, Claudia Martin, of Greer, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Judy Self, of Dequincy, Louisiana and Joan Morgan, of Burien, Washington; several nieces and nephews, and numerous devoted friends.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on September 27, 2008, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 2111 – 117th Ave. NE, Lake Stevens, WA. Donations in Edna's memory may be made to Ebenezer Lutheran or to a charity of your choice.

Willie King Martin

Willie King Martin, born in Lyman, MS September 14, 1913 to Payton C. and Rosa Damphman King. She was married to Calvin Martin, Sr. of Fernwood, MS for fifty eight years. She was a Cafeteria Manager for Harrison County School System for 30 years and was a pioneer in her field, starting with cooking on a wood stove at Lyman School. She was a member of Nugent Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, soloist for numerous weddings and funerals, and served on the church board. She was an avid gardener and flower arranger as well as an outstanding cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents Payton C. King of Lyman, MS and Rosa Damphman King, her husband Calvin Martin, Sr., brothers Rufus and Walter King, sisters Nola Mae Long, Delphine Leuenberger, Bessie Wenger, and Mary Hackettt.
She is survived by her son Calvin Martin, Jr., wife Claudia of Greenville, SC; their children Tania Newton and husband Jason, John Martin and wife Cindy. Her daughter Rosa Martin O'Bannon and husband Louis, their sons Louis Hewes O'Bannon, III, and wife Christine of Gulfport, MS and Dr. Shawn Patrick O'Bannon of Birmingham, AL, and 6 great grandsons.
Willie died September 14, 2008 in Hattiesburg at the Hattiesburg Convalescent Center. She was a resident of the care center for eight years and a special thank you to the excellent care she received from her care givers. They became a second family for her and she will be greatly missed there as she was always happy and singing, she had a, "A Song in Her Heart".
A private service was held Wednesday morning. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on O'Neal Road in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements. The family prefers any memorials to be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave 7th Floor, NY, NY 10001, for further study and research.

Marigold used to sleep with Jason and I. Now she prefers to sleep with Eric, who leaves the window shade up so she can see outside. I dont think Eric moves around as much as Jason and I do.

We have been trying to finish the playroom. Jason is hanging Sheetrock and installing insulation. It has been a challenge because it was not done correctly the first time and the room is not square.

My new nephew was born today. My brother, John and his wife Cindy have a brand new little boy to add to their family. He was born after 10 am today and weighed 9 pounds 12 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Mommy and baby and doing fine. Big Brother Daniel will get to go and see his new brother tomorrow. He is very beautiful if I do say so my self. Hopefully John and Cindy will agree on a name soon. Until then we have Baby boy Martin.

Today I took the boys downtown to find a great Christmas Tree for a photo opportunity. I thought you might like to see the ones that didn't make the cut. It is very hard to get two boys to smile at the same time and keep their hands off of one another.

Black Friday

Mom and I braved the crowds at JC Penny's early this morning. We were there at 430. Jason could not believe that we would get up that early. We really got some good deals. I could not believe the quantity of people who were already standing in lines for stores that did not open for several hours. I got a new pre-lit Christmas Tree. Here is a picture of one of my "helpers" decorating it. I can't believe it is not even December and my house is already decorated for Christmas. The boys are so excited and have been pouring over all the Toy catalogs that come in the house. We are going to take them to see Santa while Jason is home and to see the Roper Mountain Holiday Lights tomorrow night.

To celebrate National Education Week, Eric's school had a character parade. The book that Mrs Fisher choose was "Brown Bear, What do you see?" by Eric Carle . Eric's character was Green Frog. We had a great Halloween this year. Daniel joined Eric and Joel trick or treating. We walked around our neighborhood and then went to the church for Trunk or Treat. Eric wanted to go fast and his at many houses as quick as possible, Joel could say trick or treat but would forget to open his bag and Daniel loved all the decorations. 2nd Annual A.N.T. Weekend

We have just returned from the 2nd Annual A.N.T. retreat at the Alexander Farm. A great time was had by all. The children were lucky enough to be there when one of the goats had a baby. They fished in Mr. Jim's pond, watched movies and roasted/burned marshmallo's. All of the adults will never take indoor plumbing for granted again.
